Carpet stains are one of the most common challenges every homeowner has to face. No matter how you take care of your beautiful carpet, you might still see an unsightly spot. Your carpet is one of your expensive investments for your home, and you want to preserve it in its original state and keep in good shape. But how do you treat carpet stains?
We’ve put together some situations and tips for removing the most common carpet stains, so when spills occur, you’ll be prepared.
My little boy arrived home from school, and I noticed some fresh mud tracks on my carpet flooring!
It is natural to panic upon seeing that unsightly spot on your carpet, but dealing with mud is not as hard as you might think. Allow the fresh mud to dry and then brush the clump to loosen it. Vacuum the area to clean off the loosened pieces. Mix a cup of warm water and a teaspoon of mild detergent, and blot this solution on the stain. Follow this with a vinegar-based solution and blot again. Blot one more time with diluted detergent. Blot with water to rinse and then blot with a clean rag to dry.
I love scented candles at home and didn’t realize that I spilled candle wax on my bedroom carpet. What can I do to remove the wax without damaging my carpet?
Your carpet with candle wax stuck on it may look like a disaster, but stay calm. It’s actually easy to get that candle wax out of your carpet. Gently scrape off as much of the wax as you can. Get your iron and sheets of white paper towels. Place a layer of paper towels over the affected area and slightly press the warm iron over it. Make sure to set the iron hot enough to melt the wax but not to burn the carpet.

Pet urine on the carpet should be cleaned immediately to avoid bacteria growth and stains. Blot the area with paper towels and make sure to absorb as much of the liquid as you can.
